Sussexstar Boxers, Seaford, East Sussex.
My love affair with Boxers began way back in 1986 when we acquired our first dog, Bruno, a magnificent red and white dog who lived until he was 10.5 years old. He was a much loved and loyal dog whose parting left a massive void which no other dog could fill. It took over 6 years before we felt ready to have another Boxer.
How Sussexstar Boxers began
When I reached the age of 50, I received a very small pension and I bought my beautiful bitch, Holly (Birchwood Beau - born on 31 December 2003). She was the most fantastic red and white bitch I had ever seen and she was my ‘baby’.
I decided that I would like at least one litter from her and so when she was 2.5 years old she was mated with ‘George’, a handsome, stocky red and white dog. The result was a litter of 7 red and white puppies born on 27 August 2005
Unfortunately Holly starting fitting during the pregnancy and when the puppies were 11 weeks old, and at the very young age of just 2 years and 10 months, she died from a massive brain tumour. Her legacy of seven beautiful dogs in some small way helps to come to terms with her loss.
Good, loving homes were found for her puppies, however there was one dog, Sussexstar Bruno Junior, who I just could not part with as he was the spitting image of Holly.
Today
Sussexstar Bruno Junior is now a handsome, solid 4 year old dog who is full of life and loves everybody and everything.
We decided that he was such a great dog that he should be available as a stud dog a few times each year. His first litter arrived on 9 August 2009 right on time - 2 bitches and 2 dogs.
The future
Bruno is now available at stud at a fee of £500, payable either at time of mating or by agreement as £300 at time of mating and £200 when first puppy sold.
